Recipe: Fried Noodles, Meehoon, Spaghetti



Normally I would just do a flexible and agak-agak frying. But this round, I jotted down the amount of each ingredients... in case you need it children!

Main ingredients (serves 5)
  • 300-350g Noodles or Meehoon or Sphaghetti
  • 250g Meat pieces, marinate with 1 tsp soy sauce + 1 tsp sesame oil + 1 tsp corn starch
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3-6 cups  cabbage, shredded/thinly sliced
  • 1 carrot, shredded
  • 4 tbsp oil
Optional ingredients:
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced *Add on step 1 with garlic or fry till softened, then add in garlic.
  • 10 med prawn  
  • some dried shrimp *Add on step 1 with garlic
  • 3-6 eggs, scrambled *for garnishing
  • some sliced fish balls or fish cakes *Add on step 3
  • 1-2 tomatoes into wedges or cubes
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/8-1/4 tsp salt *Add on step 7 (depending on the amount of optional ingredients you have added in)
Sauce, mix all:
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce (or 1 1/8 tsp salt)
  • 4 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2-3 tbsp dark sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Fried Noodles, Meehoon or Sphaghetti
  1. High heat, saute garlic with oil till fragrant and lightly browned.
  2. Add meat, stir fry for about 30 seconds, coating the outer layers.
  3. Add prawn, stir fry for another 10 seconds.
  4. Add tomatoes, stir to mix.
  5. Add carrot and half portion of cabbage. Fry for a minute.
  6. Add remaining cabbage, sauce mixture and 1/4 cup of water.
  7. Stir fry to mix. Taste and adjust seasonings.
  8. Add noodles or meehoon or spaghetti.
  9. Mix well and serve hot!
